About the HF Sheffield Walking Group
The HF Sheffield Walking Group was formed over 90 years ago and is affiliated to HF Holidays Ltd.
This social walking group organises weekly walks where you can enjoy the countryside, meet up with fellow walkers and make new friends. We are an active group of fit and able, mainly retired people.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly group and new members are always very welcome. Why not come along to one of our walks and give it a go?
Our Walks
HF Sheffield Walking Group walks take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays on a weekly basis. Our walking programmes cover 2-monthly periods throughout the whole year.
Wednesday Walks
4-5 Miles
We meet between 9.30 and 10.00am, usually close to the centre of Sheffield. Public transport is then used to get to the starting point of the walk.
These walks are usually between 4 and 5 miles in length and can be either linear or circular.
Weekend Walks
7-9 Miles
For these Saturday walks we use members' own vehicles on a car-sharing basis. The meeting point is usually the roadside parking on Dore Road near to the junction with Abbeydale Road South. Passengers make a contribution to the driver’s motoring costs of up to £3.50, depending on the distance travelled.
These walks are circular and usually between 7 and 9 miles in length.
